Miami Creation Myth Reading

  • Villain Theater 5865 Northeast 2nd Avenue Miami, FL, 33137 (map)

After 1,500 memes, 153 short stories, two stage shows, and six years of work, the Miami Creation Myth hardcover, audiobook, and e-book are finally being published! Join us on Friday April 7th for a ridiculous night of Miami-centric comedy and live book readings from the author, Andrew Otazo, and some of the audiobook’s 25 actors.

Just as the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, and Norse had their gods, villains, and heroes, The Miami Creation Myth is a unique legendary saga based on the South Florida experience. The book immerses its readers in a universe with its own, often absurd, deities, rules, and norms, such as when Pachango the Creator first awoke on his divine pin pan pun, created Miami, and birthed its most powerful gods. Along the way, you’ll learn answers to deep existential questions, such as: Where do croquetas come from? Who is the god of chisme? And where exactly is Casa del Carajo?
